The final game determining the champion of NCAA Division I FBS football, featuring the winners of two semifinal playoff games. It replaced the BCS Championship, uses a selection committee to pick teams, and takes place at a different host city each year, crowning the champion with a unique trophy, unlike most other NCAA sports which have an official, NCAA-run event.
